The cage ventilates through the cage clip slots on the principle of warm air rising. The slots are also used as injection ports. A pocket sized squeeze bottle is included with each Sapphire purchase. The nozzle will allow water to be introduced through the slots and thereby flush the cage out from the rear. If this is performed after each urination, the cage will remain totally clean. If not, a mild solution of water and househiold detergent will restore it.

All areas of the cage are accessible with cotton swabs.
